At The Movies, that is not only an album by Sting or a CCR record. It is also the moniker of a project that released a first album called ‘The Soundtrack of Your Life’ in 2020. Chris Laney and Allan Sørensen had the idea of recording such an album while watching some movies from the ‘80s. After having easily convinced some partners in crime the project was ready for take-off.
Vol.1 of this potential series comprises hits like ‘Maniac’, ‘The Power of Love’ and Glen Frey’s ‘The Heat is on’, not to forget ‘A View to Kill’ from Duran Duran. Now, none of these artists /bands is connected to hard rock and metal. It is the work of At The Movies to arrange these songs in a more rocking context which makes some pop hymns from the ‘80s to AOR-laden tunes that attract.
In case you missed Vol.1, no worries. The album will be re-issued through Atomic Fire Records on January 7th, 2022 and what is even better news, a Vol.2 will be unleashed the same day. Stay tuned for more.
