CD review DOOL 'Summerland'

'Summerland' is the anticipate bold next step of Dool. It showcases a band that maintain the revolutionary wildness of the debut, adding more layers and twists to their sound. Dool is one of the most exciting bands these days and their second longplayer underlines, why this is the case.

CD review PURE REASON REVOLUTION ‘Eupnea’

'Eupnea' is an album with a good flow. Although having some layers weaved into the different songs, melodies are always in forefront, which makes this longplayer to a sensitive, but also rocking one. 'Eupnea' helps to get to normal, good, unlabored breathing while still being excited.

'Danse de Noir' is the fourth release of German Metal outfit Lord Vigo, a ten songs featuring record that comes through High Roller Records. Knowing the portfolio of High Roller Records doesn't leave a doubt about this album being a next well-crafted Metal release, based on more traditional Heavy Metal. CD review AUGUST BURNS RED 'Guardians'

August Burns Red's lyrical concept behind 'Guardians' became much more relevant than what the band maybe had in mind when starting work on the new album. Guitarist Brent Rambler describes the album title as addressing "a loose theme of being there for another person who’s reaching out for help. This individual who saves the day acts like a guardian." These guardians are more relevant than ever these days.

CD review IGORRR 'Spirituality and Distortion'

Igorrr's music is special and for sure not run-of-the mill. The band, being the brainchild of French musician Gautier Serre stretch the frames of Metal and other genres by combining many and difrerent influences to rather unique sound collage. 'Spirituality and Distortion' takes time and wants to be uncovered step by step. Breakcore, Metal and... Continue Reading →

CD review TESTAMENT 'Titans of Creation'

Already while listening to the record the first time transferred me back in time to days when the band got out of the starting blocks. 'Titans of Creation' has the power of the first three longplayers, using modern production techniques that help to even strengthen this sonic punch. 'Titans of Creation' is raw and unpolished, still benefiting for a well-crafted sound.

CD review GRINDPAD 'Violence'

'Violence' pushes the pedal to metal and there aren't any moments to take a deep breathe. It's a like you're caught in a musical tornado for 42 minutes before the final note of 'To Those About to Die (20/20) spits you out into reality again. 'Violence' is raw and unpolished. It's dirty Thrash Metal the way it was invented by the mentioned genre pioneers. Grindpad belongs to the next generation of Thrash metal bands and what they offer with 'Violence' is stunningly good.

CD review BONFIRE 'Fistful of Fire'

Bonfire is more and more finding back to old strength and 'Fistful of Fire' can compete with the ‘Point Blank’-days, something I truly doubted during the last decades. 'Fistful of Fire' showcases a band that's on fire. Check it out.
