BLUE ÖSTER CULT release another two live albums

If there would be a reward for most live albums released in one year, Frontiers Music and Blue Öyster Cult would be for sure a nominee with a solid chance to win.

Five live releases in 12 months is more than solid and considering a new studio album too, Blue Öyster Cult was very present this year. Now, ‘The Symbol Remains’ is certainly the highlight in 2020 when it comes to releases of the hard rock veterans. Songs like the timeless anthem ‘The Alchemist’ belong to the masterpieces penned by the band. What remains is the question, why so many live albums since it puts water to the wine.

‘Hard Rock Live Cleveland 2014′, ’40th Anniversary – Agents of Fortune – Live 2016′, ’45th Anniversary – Live in London’ and now ‘Live at Rock of Ages Festival 2016’ plus ‘A Long Day’s Night’ (a re-release of the 2002 CD/DVD), that’s a lot.

Collectors will certainly be interested in all these releases and also rock fans with a bigger wallet might be willing to take the investment. However, the essential Blue Öyster Cult release 2020 is named ‘The Symbol Remains’.
