Review KHYMERA ‘Hold Your Ground’

Normally bands and projects Dennis Ward is involved in are of high quality. Khymera is no exception.

Since their debut album in 2003, the band has been regularly delivering new records, and the sixth album, ‘Hold Your Ground’, is being released as we speak.

Despite a very busy schedule Ward always manages to find time for Khymera and if you listen to the new album, the time spent has been worth it.

Already at the first listening the new album ‘Hold Your Ground’ displays all its attractiveness. Melodic rock song is what you listen to and you are immediately impressed by the hooks. However, in order not to let the album seem too smooth, Ward has constantly integrated rock guitar sounds, which show very well as in the lively ‘Sail on Forever’.

The piano ballad ‘Our Love is Killing Me’ is calmer, before the full power of the melodic rock comes to the fore again with ‘Hear What I’m Saying’. Also worth listening to is ‘On the Edge’ and the chart-worthy ‘Runaway’ immediately establishes itself in your mind too.

‘Hold You Ground’ is an album, which resounds colorful and lighthearted from the boxes. Lightness and joy of life is the order of the day. If you are longing for something positive and colorful in gray winter days, ‘Hold Your Ground’ is a must.
