CD review LIONHEART ‘The Reality of Miracles’

Lionheart is releasing a new album these days and if you are a fan of Hardcore music, you can stop reading right here. Rather than new stuff from the Hardcore icons from the US, this album is about the Melodic Rockers from the UK.

Dennis Stratton (ex-Iron Maiden), Steve Mann (Michael Schenker Fest) and Rocky Newton (ex- MSG) with Clive Edwards (ex-UFO) founded the band in the late 80s, have made Melodic Rock and AOR to their mission and releases their new album these days.

‘The Reality of Miracles’ contains thirteen new songs and Lionheart use all their experience to make this album to a good one. After a few ups and downs in their career, the quintet is an unstoppable force in AOR. Even if the five-piece musically doesn’t reinvent this kind of music, what the fans get offered is very solid and soulful Melodic Rock. Hereby Lionheart use the entire toolkit, from great melodies to catchy hooks, all wrapped up in a transparent sound expression. Sometimes, like in uptempo smasher ‘Five Tribes’, the guys really fire on all cylinders and as a listener you wonder why they don’t use this kind of power tool more often. It would certainly add to the punching power of ‘The Reality of Miracles’ a lot.

All in all there isn’t much to criticize about ‘The Reality of Miracles’. The five rock veterans deliver with their newest offer a rock solid album, which might be interesting for Melodic Rock fans.
