Review INDUCTION ‘The Power of Power’ – EP

It was back in 2019 when I duction launched their debut album, followed by the sophomore release ‘Born from Fire’. What might have helped the band in the very early days is the fact that guitarist Tim Hansen not only carries a big name, but actually is the son of Helloween axeman Kai Hansen. However, in the end, it’s quality that decides if a band make it or not and after having released two longplayers we can state that the band has it in all in place to become a steady part of the German metal scene.

To make use of the momentum, and prior to some touring activities with Sonata Arctica & Stratovarius and Accept later this year, Induction launch a digital EP called ‘The Power of Power’.

Is there much new stuff on this release? Not really. The opener is a new song called ‘Set You Free’ while the other tracks are taken from the two longplayers including the ‘A Call Beyond’ single from May this year. ‘Set You Free’ though is a lightning metal anthem that one shouldn’t miss. Not that the song features some revolutionary element. It is melodic metal, played fast and with dedication and it is the latter that makes fun. ‘Set You Free’ is an energizer that entertains and provides a good time.

This EP can be recommended to those who want to have all the releases of Induction, but also to those who want to have a first overview of the work of the band.
