Ironflame hail from Ohio, have released three albums so far and are into traditional metal. Considering that the quintet started in 2016, they have already delivered quite a bit. The fourth longplayer ‘Where Madness Dwells’ is out now and also this time the guys give it all.
A total of ten songs are on the new album and what comes out of the speakers is convincing. Well, Ironflame don’t reinvent the wheel. Everything you get served on ‘Where Madness Dwells’ has been there before in a similar fashion. In the spirit of the NWoBHM and inspired by bands like Iron Maiden, the five Americans cruise through the almost 50-minute album. Thereby fast rockers like ‘Under the Spell’ are as well present as epic metal hymns (‘A Funeral Within’). The latter is a slow and melodic epic metal song that immediately catches the ear. The title track, which ends ‘Where Madness Dwells’, belongs to the same category. Crisp riffs, good melodies and an overall anthemic expression rule here as well. In addition, ‘The Phantom Flame’ can convince with its double bass interludes.
Ironflame show with their fourth album that they are able to write excellent metal anthems. These guys have enough firepower to compete. Fans of denim & leather metal will get here their full share of pleasure.
