Review THE DIRTY DENIMS ‘Raw Denim – Recorded Live’

Rock’n’roll from Eindhoven, The Netherlands means to mention The Dirty Denims. It was in 2006 when the band started and established themselves as a rocking force in their home country.

Three albums, that what The Dirty Denims added to their list of achievements of which the 2020 release ‚Ready, Steady, Go!‘ is the latest record that has hit the shelves. Being around for 15 years means that something special should happen to honor such a milestone. In time of COVID a usual live show is more challenging to arrange and therefor the quartet went on a different road.

A live album was missing, and the gap is closed. ‚Live‘ in this context doesn’t relate to a show that has been recorded. Instead, it is a studio session the four-piece powerhouse played at POPEI in Eindhoven, a set performed live in a studio setting.

The setlist of this special event features songs from the three longplayers as well as it contains single releases from the last months.

The up-tempo ‚Gotta Run‘ is such a song and grooving ‚Fit In Stand Out‘ belongs to the newer tracks too. The Dirty Denims fires on all cylinders. Playing rock’n’roll is a matter of heart and soul for The Dirty Denims, something you can hear through each tone played. Highly inspired by legends such as AC/DC, the Dutch groove machine cruises through the setlist with passion and confidence. This album is a great party soundtrack and has with its good-times-vibe also the potential to bring some color and light into the grey days of autumn and winter.
