If you talk about heavy metal from Germany, then there is certainly no way of avoiding Kreator. Founded in 1984, Mille and his bandmates are among the spearheads of German thrash metal, with numerous classics featuring the band’s discography.
While a new album is still awaited and the planned tour had to be postponed once again, Kreator have come up with a special package targeting the early years. With ‘Under the Guillotine’ Kreator are launching a boxset that should be of great interest for fans of the band.
The entire records from ‘Endless Pain’ to ‘Renewal’ are included in this package, all in artwork matching colored vinyl with original artwork and innersleves. In addition, there is a 40-page hardback book that takes fans back to the early days of the band, documented by photos,…
And as if that wasn’t enough, the boxset also includes a reproduction of the ‘End of the World’ demo cassette, a USB stick in the shape of the ‘Demon’ with all the MP3s and a DVD called ‘Some Pain Will Last’. The latter contains a documentary from the early 90s called ‘From the Vault’, two previously unreleased audio live concerts and an Andy Sneap remix of ‘Live n East Berlin 1990. All in all pretty interesting and entertaining stuff that feels like a journey back in time, just thinking about the format, made for old-fashioned TVs.
But things are not that inexpensive, as the box costs close to 130 Euro. Looking at the value for money aspect, it can be said that you also get a lot in return for your investment. For Kreator fans and Thrash Metal enthusiasts ‘Under the Giollotine’ is certainly a good choice. More is not possible.
