CD review BLOODBOUND ‘Bloodheads United’

Bloodbound stands for Melodic Metal from Sweden, presented by several longplayers but also a significant amount of live shows.

Four years ago the first Bloodbound live album has been released and now it is an EP, being the next live coverage from the Swedish steel workers, at least looking at four out of five songs.

Although ‘Bloodheads United’ reminds a bit of Helloween’s ‘Pumpkins United’ the story behind the title is a bit different. Bloodbound dedicates the title to their fanclub, the Bloodheads. And ‘Bloodhead United’ isn’t just the title of the EP. It’s also a brand new song, a marching Melodic Metal hymn with pathos and dedication.

Furthermore the release features four live song, recorded at the Bang Your Head festival in Germany in 2017. A nice reminder of times when concerts in front of real people took place.

All in all the release will be appreciated by Bloodhead-members and other fans of the band. It’s more a collector’s item, but it helps bridging the wait for the next full-length longplayer.

Rating: 7 out of 10.

  1. Bloodheads United
  2. Bloodtale (live)
  3. Battle in the Sky (live)
  4. In the Name of Metal (live)
  5. Moris (live)
