Höör is a small community that you pass through when driving further into Småland, Sweden. The city is home to a rising star of the metal scene. Hailing from southern Sweden, Eradikated was founded in 2021 and released their debut album in 2023. Their first album, “Descendants”, received positive feedback, and the band is now building on this initial success with the release of their second studio album, “Wiring of Violence”.
“Wiring of Violence” is the sophomore release from this young metal force, and it is a massive thrash metal album. The new release features nine tracks rooted in the thrash metal sound of the Bay Area. Bands such as Death Angel, Slayer and Exodus have certainly had an impact on Eradikated. Building on the sound of these bands, the four musicians add a lot of passion to the mix, resulting in music that is a headbanger’s delight.
“British Petroleum” is the first neck-muscle challenger. It is a fast-paced and furious introduction to the album, setting the scene perfectly. These four Swedes don’t hold back, as can be heard in songs like “Mortality” and the raging “Culling”.
More groove-oriented yet slower paced is “Again I Rise”. This song features a massive riff attack, while “Tsar”, with a running time of less than two minutes, is its blistering counterpart. “Tsar” is a high-speed inferno.
The title track is a superb thrash metal anthem that captures the spirit of the ’80s while still sounding modern. A strong bassline kicks off “Confession”, a slower riff monster that showcases the versatility that Eradikated puts into their music. The closing track, “Ashes”, sees all brakes loose again, providing a furious finale to a great album.
Eradikated have strengthened their position in the contemporary thrash metal scene, with their roots going back to the genre’s heyday. “Wiring of Violence” is wild, furious and untamed. This raw piece of thrash metal is best enjoyed during sweat-soaked club shows.
