Hailing from Hamburg, Godsnake released their first EP in 2014. However, it took several years before the band delivered their full-length debut. They finally closed that gap with “Poison Thorn” in 2020. Now, in 2026, the thrash metal outift returns with their third studio album, “Inhale the Noise,” once again released via Massacre Records.
Godsnake – consisting of Torger, Stevo, The Walt, and Sidney – are bonded by their shared passion for thrash metal, which they complement with a keen sense of melody. The album’s lead single, “Lost & Forgotten,” is a perfect introduction to this blend. The track strikes a compelling balance between aggressive riffing and a memorable, well-crafted chorus, reminiscent of bands like Rage. Lyrically, it is a powerful statement about belonging, identity, and the deep bonds within the metal community.
Riff-driven intensity is at the core of “Inhale the Noise.” The opening track, “Scream for a Bullet,” establishes a foundation deeply rooted in classic thrash metal. This approach continues with the title track, which impresses with its sheer force and relentless energy.
With “Enemy of Great,” the band shows their ability to expand beyond straightforward aggression. While the earlier tracks push forward with high intensity, this song showcases a more dynamic and versatile approach to songwriting. Combining clean and melodic vocal passages with heavier outbursts, the six-minute track is one of the album’s more epic and multifaceted moments.
A similar compositional depth is evident in “Fear Is the Key,” another six-minute track that begins with an atmospheric introduction. Once again, the band effectively balances melody and heaviness, with Torger’s clean vocals revealing additional potential. Both songs stand out as strong, anthem-like highlights.
At the other end of the spectrum is “Digital Dumbass,” which delivers pure speed and intensity. As the fastest track on the album, the song embodies the album title with an intense, high-tempo performance.
With “Inhale the Noise,” Godsnake takes a significant step forward. Their combination of crushing thrash riffs, driving energy, and melodic elements is highly effective. The band raises the bar with an album that is musically rich and clearly defined in its artistic vision. Headbanging is guaranteed.
