Ronnie Atkins, legendary frontman of Pretty Maids, had released his solo debut ‘One Shot’ in March 2021, toured with Avantasia and also performed on Nordic Union’s 2022 album. Considering the singer’s battle against cancer, these gems are a gift. This also undoubtedly includes the singer’s second work, ‘Make It Count’.
Now Atkins follows up and releases an EP with four songs from the latest record, which are rearranged and gain new shine in an orchestral version.
‘Symphomaniac’ is the name of the release and it’s songs like ‘Rising Tide’ and especially the extremely emotional ‘Let Love Lead the Way’ that give you goosebumps. It’s not just Atkin’s striking voice that impresses. It is also the density of an orchestral setting that gives each of the songs a very special feel.
If you love excellently made rock music and also enjoy the full sound of an orchestra, this is exactly the right album for you. And that fans of the singer will appreciate this EP is out of the question anyway.
