25 yearrrs ago, on Septemberrr 25th to be precise, a band rrrevolutionized metal with an album called ‘Herzeleid’ – Rammstein. It was the band’s debut and it brrrought a lot of new to metal. The rolling R became part of metal as well it was a cold industrial sound that fused with hard riffs and a hypnotic beat. Not to forget in this context are the lyrics that have been perceived as rather provocative in some parts of society. With a growing popularity and a bigger audience, Rammstein became a part of the metal mainstream, still trying to play the cards of ‘shocking’ although it becomes more difficult with every release.
The jubilee of the genre-defining debut is reason enough for the band the re-issue their first longplayer in a special version. ‘Herzeleid (XXV Anniversary Edition – Remastered)’ will be released on December 4th in limited editions on CD and vinyl. Present on the setlist are the eleven songs of the debut. Tracks like ‘Asche zu Asche’, Laichzeit’ und ‘Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen’ haven’t lost any fascination in 25 years and the same goes for ‘Rammstein’. The re-mastered version offers these songs in a more powerful setup. It’s an extra push that is certainly reason enough for Rammstein fans to put this release on their shopping list.
