Tarja fans will be spoiled this Christmas time. The iconic Finnish singer will release a special version of ‘Have Yourself a Merry Christmas’ on December 6th. The song was written by Hugh Martin in 1943 and Tarja interprets the tune in a very festive way, making use of all her vocal skill and possibilities.
The song is also a link to 2019 when Tarja went on the ‘Christmas Together – Yhdessä Jouluna’-tour. Two of the shows are the base for a CD called ‘Christmas Together: Live at Olomouc and Hradec Králové 2019’, which is a 15 songs comprising disc with Christmas carols, Finnish ones and more internationally known ones too. It’s an impressive version of ‘Silent Night’ that ended these shows and also rounds off ”Christmas Together: Live at Olomouc and Hradec Králové 2019′.
The live recording is the bonus CD of the re-issue of Tarja’s first Christmas album ‘From Spirits and Ghosts’. The live recording is also available digital and as a very limited gatefold LP format. ‘From Spirts and Ghosts (2020)’ also includes next to the original songs three extra tunes in alternative languages plus a collaboration with Cristina Scabbia, Doro Pesch, Elize Ryd, Floor Jansen, Hansi Kürsch, Joe Lynn Turner, Marco Saaresto, Michael Monroe, Sharon Den Adel, Simone Simons, Timo Kotipelto and Tony Kakko, all together doing a heart-breaking version of ‘Feliz Navidad’.
