CD review LIONHEART ‘Live at Sumer Breeze’

Hardcore is a musical style that releases a lot of energy, even on records. Still live concerts are the ultimate way to experience and feel hardcore and a live album can deliver in parts the unbound excitement.

One of the big names in hardcore are Lionheart from California. With a first appearance in 2007, the guys have become a constant with numerous albums over time. The fanbase is growing continuously and therefore it’s not surprising that the group performed in front of a big audience at last year’s Summer Breeze festival. The recording of this show is now coming to the record stores in form of a live album and is called ‘Live at Summer Breeze’.

The core of the setlist on August 15th, 2019 was the more recent songs of Lionheart. The guys built a set based exclusively on the two ‘Welcome to the Westcoast’ albums, complemented by four songs from the ‘Love Don’t Live Here’ release.

The result of show and recording is something to be proud of. Celebrated by a large audience, Lionheart put in a lot of effort into the show and are at their best. The quintet definitely delivered a powerful and aggressive show, which is captured on this live album in good fashion. For hardcore fans and passionate fans of powerful live albums, the purchase of this release is definitely an interesting investment.
