Blast Bomb stands for dirty and down-to-earth rock, spiced up with a strong pinch of a punk attitude. The first time I heard of Blast Bomb was when they opened for Life Of Agony last year in Hamburg. Due to a relatively late announcement as support and an early stage time, the guys had to play in front of a rather empty hall. It was impressive though that this did not affect the energy of the five guys. Blast Bomb took their chance and energized the crowd.
Now the band is coming round the corner with a live album, surprisingly not recorded in their hometown Hamburg but in the UK. Actually it is the show at The Queens Head in Reddrich, which is the base for this live release.
At the end of February this year, when concerts could still be played in front of a live audience rather than streaming cameras, the guys fired eight songs into the crowd, tracks bursting with impetuous power. Blast Bomb is a live band and they prove it on this live album. ‘Live & Explosive in the UK’ captures the atmosphere really well and it’s a dirty rock’n’roll vibe that gets to your living room.
If you have the chance to see the band live, take the chance. Until then this live album is a good chance to get to know Blast Bomb.
