CD review RAMMSTEIN “Rammstein’
(7/10) There’s always a lot of buzz the moment a new Rammstein album is announced and since ‘Liebe ist für alle da’ was released 10 years ago the level of excitement was even higher than usual. For many years it wasn’t a given that there will be another Rammstein album at all and now it’s... Continue Reading →
CD review LEATHÜRBITCH ‘Into the Night’
(8/10) Leathürbitch, already this moniker creates a certain level of attention, with the 'ü' being definitely more of an unusual letter in English language. Next is the artwork that reflects a certain '80s vibe but besides all this it's the music that needs to do the job. While I was spinning this longplayer for the... Continue Reading →
CD review SAVAGE MESSIAH ‘Demons’
(7/10) London-based metallers Savage Messiah were busy over the last two years. Not only that the guys played a bigger number of shows, they also worked on a new delivery that’s ready to go. Two years after ‘Hands of Fate’ has been unleashed it’s ‘Demons’ being album number five of the UK powerhouse, trying to... Continue Reading →
CD review WARRIOR SOUL ‘Rock’n’Roll Disease’
(8/10) I wasn't really excited about Warrior Soul's latest album, which mainly had to do with the sound of 'Back on the Lash'. This deficit is swiped away with 'Rock'n'Roll Disease'. Warrior Soul's newest addition to their discography is a pure Rock'n'Roll record that spreads the virus of Rock music. The eight songs that made... Continue Reading →
CD review SAINT VITUS ‘Saint Vitus’
(7/10) California-based Doom Metal veterans Saint Vitus have a new album in the starting blocks. Simply entitled 'Saint Vitus' the longplayer ends a seven years wait. Founding members Dave Chandler and Scott Ranger, together with their bandmates Henry Vasquez and Pat Bruders, that's the current line-up of the Doom legends. After having suffered from many... CD review MARTYRDÖD ‘Hexhammaren’
(7/10) Martyrdöd's smashing seventh album is mainly built on two pillars. One of them are the hysteric sound vocals by Mikael Kjellman and the other one are the rather melodic guitar lines. Now, using the work 'melodic' might lead to a wrong impression since Martyrdöd has nothing to do with melodic metal or similar. The... Continue Reading →
CD review DOGFACE “From the End to the Beginning’
(*/10) Dogface is/was the deliverer of great Hard Rock records without having had the chance to enjoy a big break-through. The band premiered two decades ago after having found with Mats Leven an excellent frontman. With having Leven on board things gained speed, which unfortunately didn't last for too long. A sophomore album has been... Continue Reading →
CD review AVATAR ‘The King Live in Paris’
(8/10) When the King holds court in Paris it needs an announcer to prepare everybody for the royal appearance. And since the King is in France, at Download festival to be precise, the announcement is done in French, directly followed by the start of the show. His Royal Highness entertains folks for around an hour... Continue Reading →
CD review STORMHAMMER ‘Seven Seals’
(7/10) 'Seven Seals' is Stormhammer's 7th album and it comes with 11 songs. That's the numbers part and now let's have a look into the musical offer. 'Seven Seal' is thematically built on the myth of the Sri-Padmanabhaswamy temple in India and the unopened chamber that's protected by seals. This is the lyrical concept and... Continue Reading →
CD review WAR CURSE ‘Eradication’
(8/10) War Curse, hailing from Ohio, is a rather new band. The guys founded the band in 2013 and already two years later the debut 'Final Days' was shipped to the record stores. This first sign of life draw the attention of Svart Records and after having inked a deal with the label the five-piece... Continue Reading →
CD review SNOWY WHITE and THE WHITE FLAMES ‘The Situation’
(8/10) 'The Situation' is touching Blues Rock in perfection. British guitarist Snowy White gathered again together with some fiends and musicians to work on a new album that became very personal. 'The Situation' reflects all kinds of emotional states and situations of the guitarist during 2018. This approach makes the album to very personal one,... Continue Reading →
CD review LICE ‘Woe Betide You’
(7/10) Avantgarde metaller Lice is a mystic player in the fields of metal. Not that much is known about the band that consists of Shining's Nikolas Kvarforth and J of Spanish Teitanblood. The third band member is Kirill Krowli, responsible for guitar, bass and effects. 'Woe Betide You' is the current output of this trio... Continue Reading →

CD review EMILS BULLS ‘Mixtape’
(7/10) In times of Spotify, Deezer and others mixtapes lost it's fascination or better, were replaced by anonymous playlists. Actually you don't even get tapes anymore the way it was in the 80's when cassettes were the only way to capture music yourself. Mixtapes featured the essence of music you liked and/or were a cheap... Continue Reading →
