MOONSPELL announce MOONFEST

To celebrate 35 years of their career, Moonspell are going further than ever with the launch of the first edition of Moonfest, a new festival celebrating not only this milestone in the band’s history, but also the spirit of Heavy Metal, its diversity and its longevity.

The announcement follows the confirmation of the band’s 40-date European tour, “God is a Vampire”, scheduled for March and April 2027, and comes shortly after Moonspell presented their latest album, Far From God, at a completely sold-out Hard Club in Porto, following a similarly successful show in Sintra back in September.

Taking place on October 30, 2027, at the MEO Arena in Lisbon, Moonfest marks another major milestone in the history of one of Portugal’s most internationally acclaimed bands.

Personally curated by the band, the line-up brings together tradition and modernity. Moonspell welcome Finland’s Amorphis, one of the biggest and most influential institutions in Finnish Metal; Switzerland’s Zeal & Ardor, one of the most innovative projects in contemporary Metal, fusing blues and gospel with Scandinavian Black Metal; the UK’s Towards The Sinister, formed by the original founders of My Dying Bride; and, opening the festival, Portugal’s Heavenwood, who released new music in 2026, the year marking their 30th anniversary.

Alongside the performances by the guest bands, the night will culminate with Moonspell taking the stage for a journey through more than three decades of Gothic Metal with a distinctly Portuguese signature, in the biggest production of their career.
