THUNDERMOTHER – new album, new video and tour dates

Swedish hard rock queens Thundermother are releasing their studio debut on Napalm Records: Mothers of Thunder is set for release on February 5, 2027. The band’s seventh album proves that the leading ladies of the genre have everything their male counterparts do—if not even more! Rock ’n’ roll with gritty riffs and sassy lyrics, whose raw energy just begs for high-octane live shows—and Thundermother has proven time and again that they excel at the latter: In addition to opening for legends like the Scorpions and Judas Priest, the four musicians have played at festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze, and Sweden Rock, and released their first live album, Live’n’Alive, in 2026. Now they’re ready for a new era: Mothers of Thunder is a dynamic source of inspiration for women and thrilling fun for everyone else.

Along with the announcement, Thundermother is shaking up the genre with their first single, “Bimbo Boost.” In the song, they play the epic riff from Deep Purple’s “Smoke on the Water” in reverse, addressing the pressure placed on female musicians—after all, the expectation that they must always look perfect on stage doesn’t match the standards applied to their male counterparts.
