Review WEDNESDAY 13 “Un-Alive from Pol’and’Rock”

Wednesday 13 are back with a new live album, Un-Alive from Pol’and’Rock. The band played Poland’s Pol’and’Rock Festival in the summer of 2025, and while the claim of 750,000 attendees mentioned in the album’s press information may be open to debate, there was still a sizeable crowd of rock and metal fans gathered at Czaplinek-Broczyno Airport to see Wednesday 13 in action.

The band runs through 15 songs, all of which made it onto the album. Four tracks come from Mid Death Crisis, which was the band’s latest studio album at the time, giving the record a solid connection to that chapter of their career.

The opening track, however, reaches further back. “Look What the Bat Dragged In” comes from Wednesday 13’s debut album and makes for a punchy opener that gets the set moving right away.

The setlist is not limited to Wednesday 13 material, either. The live album also reaches into the Murderdolls catalog, while “197666” and the closing “I Love to Say Fuck” take things even further back to the Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13 days.

From a sound perspective, the album also gives a good impression of the band’s live presence. Naturally, a live record cannot capture the full visual impact of the stage show, but the energy still comes through the speakers.

Overall, Un-Alive from Pol’and’Rock is a well-crafted and highly entertaining live album that offers a solid cross-section of Wednesday 13’s career while also revisiting some of the history behind the band. Hard rock with a sense of fun ans humor — and sometimes, that is exactly what you need.
