MONCHI, lead singer of FEINE SAHNE FISCHFILET, is embarking on a book tour to promote his new book, “Jenseits der Brandmauer”

Monchi’s new book, Jenseits der Brandmauer – Über mein Leben in der ostdeutschen Provinz, will be released on August 13. To coincide with the release, the singer from Feine Sahne Fischfilet will embark on his first book tour this winter.

Speaking about the events, Monchi says: “I’m really looking forward to finally presenting my new book to you all. I live in a town where 54 percent of voters cast their ballots for the AfD in the last federal election. There, the much-cited ‘firewall’ often feels more like a little wall. At the same time, it’s the place I love and where I want to stay. I’ll talk about the contradictions that weigh on my mind, about the mistakes I’ve made myself, and why I still believe that leaving isn’t the solution. I’ll also discuss how the two themes of my books Niemals satt and Jenseits der Brandmauer are connected, what the link is between 6XL clothing and songs like “15 Jahre,” and I’ll share a few stories that didn’t make it into the book. I’ll read from the book, sing a song or two along the way, and look forward to talking with you all. See you this winter.”

The second book by Feine Sahne Fischfilet frontman Monchi will be published on August 13, 2026, by Kiepenheuer & Witsch. The audiobook will be narrated by Monchi himself.

With his second book, Jenseits der Brandmauer – Über mein Leben in der ostdeutschen Provinz, Monchi builds on the success of his SPIEGEL bestseller Niemals Satt. In a personal, direct, and self-critical tone, he recounts his return to the province of Western Pomerania and how social tensions are changing everyday life.

A plea against black-and-white thinking and for the attempt to coexist when differences seem insurmountable. No easy answers, but a candid and self-critical attempt to discover what can still make a difference today.
