Review FUTURE PALACE “Resurgence”

Resurgence is already the fourth album from Berlin-based metalcore outfit Future Palace, who formed in 2018. The trio of Maria, Manuel, and Johannes made a strong first impression with their debut album, Escape. They continued building on that foundation with Run and Distortion, before taking the next step with a new record label.

Resurgence marks the band’s first release through Century Media, but the label change hasn’t altered their musical direction. Future Palace continue to blend metalcore with prominent modern metal influences, creating a sound that remains both powerful and melodic.

“Supernova,” for example, opens with crushing riffs while balancing them with melodic passages and subtle pop-inspired elements. Future Palace handle these contrasts with ease, allowing the different styles to complement each other while keeping the song cohesive and engaging.

Tracks like “The Shades” showcase the heavier side of the band, with driving riffs and an anthemic chorus that has become one of Future Palace’s trademarks. One of the album’s defining qualities is its dense and powerful production. Whether it’s the heavier material or the more synth-driven “Nixy,” Resurgence delivers a consistently full and energetic sound from beginning to end. The music also reflects the emotional themes explored throughout the lyrics, capturing both the highs and lows of life with honesty and intensity.

Future Palace have already built an impressive career, and Resurgence further strengthens their place in the world of melodic, pop-infused metalcore. Fans of the band will find plenty to enjoy, while anyone who has only heard the name may want to give this album a listen.
