Review ALIEN “Live at Sweden Rock Festival”

The Swedish AOR band Alien played a show at the 2025 Sweden Rock Festival, which is now being released as a live album. “Live at Sweden Rock Festival” features the full performance by the melodic rock band and is their first live album in their four-decade career.

The setlist was largely based on songs from their self-titled debut album from 1986, but it is a new song that takes pole position. “In the End We Fall” is taken from their latest studio album, “When Yesterday Comes Around”. “If Love Is War” reflects their current musical journey too, before we take a trip down memory lane.

“Go Easy” is one of the anthems from the debut album, followed by “Brave New Love”. These two songs demonstrate why Alien belong in the top league of European AOR. Melodies and rock music fuse together wonderfully, and the guitar solo at the end of “Only One Woman” shows that Alien can really make the guitar scream.

‘Night of Fire’, another pulsating rocker, brings us back to more recent times, before the time machine is programmed for 1986 again. The show came to an end with “Dying by the Golden Rule” and the anthemic “Touch My Fire”, which also marks the end of this live album.

It took four decades for Alien to release a live album, and here it is: “Live at Sweden Rock Festival”. With great sound quality and a live spirit that captures the momentum of the show, “Live at Sweden Rock Festival” is a must-have for any fan. Announcements in Swedish, powerful rock and an enthusiastic audience make this an authentic release that captures the momentum perfectly.
