Musically, CoreLeoni is the mean little brother of Gotthard. Founded by guitarist Leo Leoni in 2017, the band aims to revive the songs from Gotthard’s first albums. CoreLeoni aims to maintain this vibe, while Gotthard has become a melodic rock powerhouse that attracts a mainstream audience.
On July 3, 2025, Leo Leoni and his bandmates opened for the legendary Judas Priest at Hallenstadion in Zurich. They made the most of this opportunity by recording the show, which is now available as “Live at Hallenstadion.”
The live album features nine songs that focus on the early days of Gotthard. The band started with “Sister Moon,” a powerful performance with a rock ‘n’ roll heart. The set also included throbbing versions of “Downtown” and “Firedance.” The latter two echo the bursting energy of the Gotthard debut album, as does “Mountain Mama,” originally from the “Dial Hard” release. Let’s not forget the up-tempo version of “Here Comes the Heat,” which perfectly transitions to the headliner.
“Live at Hallenstadion” is a powerful live album that showcases Leo Leoni’s passion for hard rock and magical riff power. It provides a good time, which is exactly what we all need.
