VREID announce “The Skies Turn Black”

The wait is over. Today Vreid drop “From These Woods” and its accompanying music video.

Norwegian metal veterans Vreid open a powerful new chapter with the announcement of their upcoming album “The Skies Turn Black”, arriving March 6th, 2026 via Indie Recordings. Five years have passed since their last album, years that have shaped, challenged, and sharpened the band. With this album, Vreid return to the core of their Sognametal identity while stepping into their most ambitious musical territory to date.

The journey begins today, December 10th with the release of the first single “From These Woods”. The track originated during early demo sessions in a remote mountain cabin. A late-night idea quickly became the foundation for the track and set the tone for the entire album. The band describes it as one of those rare songs that appears almost fully formed and feels deeply connected to their Sognametal legacy.
