DEFTONES – “private music” now public

Five years since their last album – and now the big 10: Deftones present their tenth studio album, “private music.”

The band already made waves at the beginning of the month with the single “milk of the madonna.” They had previously set the stage for “private music” with the album opener “my mind is a mountain” – and immediately triggered critical acclaim and fan euphoria alike. This song alone has already racked up over 25 million streams worldwide and went straight to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs chart – one of the band’s strongest song debuts ever.

Over the course of nine studio albums, Deftones have created their own unique sound universe. Now they return with one of the most focused statements of their career: “private music.” In addition to the creative core lineup of Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter, Abe Cunningham, and Frank Delgado, as well as newcomer Fred Sablan on bass, producer Nick Raskulinecz, who previously worked with the band on “Diamond Eyes” (2010) and “Koi No Yokan” (2012), was also at the helm.
