DEFTONES – new single, new album and tour dates

Deftones have announced the release of their new album “private music”. It is the tenth album in total from the Grammy Award-winning and internationally multi-platinum-decorated band from Sacramento, California, and also the first since “Ohms” five years ago, which brought Deftones another top 10 success in Germany. “private music” will be released on August 22, 2025 via Reprise/Warner Records and can be pre-ordered HERE.

The new single “my mind is a mountain”, which celebrated its exclusive premiere as a “World Record” in Zane Lowe’s show on Apple Music, is available as a first foretaste. You can listen to the song here. As part of the premiere, Lowe also met up with Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter, Abe Cunningham and Frank Delgado at the legendary Canter’s Deli in Hollywood, where they talked about the making of the new album, shared memories – and took a look into the future.

A new chapter begins for Deftones with “private music”. The album was created at several locations in California – including Malibu and Joshua Tree – as well as in Nashville, Tennessee. It was produced and recorded together with Grammy-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz, with whom the band previously worked on Diamond Eyes (2010) and Koi No Yokan (2012). It is their third joint production – and once again Deftones explore creative boundaries as only they can.
