Review TUMBLE “Lost in Light” – EP – Markus' Heavy Music Blog

Tumble is a band from Toronto, Canada, and “Lost in Light” is the title of their debut EP. The release contains five songs and clocks in at 20 minutes. Tumble is Liam Deak (g/v), Tarun Dawar (b) and Adam Guerra (d). These three guys have a common passion for rock music.

The band was formed in 2022 and blends hard rock, heavy rock and psychedelic rock with roots in the late 60s and early 70s. What could be a rather old-fashioned release is just the opposite. Tumble’s first EP contains powerful and dynamic songs that take their inspiration from a few decades ago, but transfer the spirit of that time into the here and now.

Immediately noticeable is the organic and warm sound, which is due to the fact that the trio recorded the songs live at ProGold Studio. Such an approach gives Tumble’s music a very real touch that immediately resonates in songs like the opener “Laid By Fear”. The start of this EP is a dark one though. Built on a hypnotic riff, the song sets the tone for the release, followed by “The Less I Know”. The latter brings more of a psychedelic rock flavor to the fore. Combined with a bluesy groove, the song is an infectious piece of music, and it doesn’t take long for the song to unfold its addictive factor.

More of a 70’s glam rock spirit makes “Dead By Rumors” a dynamic rocker, while the finale is called “Wings of Gold”. The band decided to close the album with a thunderous song. It’s a roaring end; a closer that you can easily connect to.

“Lost in Light” is the title of a well forged debut release from Tumble. The Canadians are one of the representatives of a rather vibrant music scene in Toronto, and what they present on their first effort is a good start. We can be curious to see what we can expect from the trio in the future.
