It was to be a night to remember, December 10, 2022, when the British rock band Magnum played the final concert of their European tour at ‚KK’s Steel Mill‘ in Wolverhampton, England, and, as on all the previous evenings, thrilled the fans from the first to the last note. The concert was recorded with several video cameras and high-quality audio equipment, which would later prove to be a real blessing, because – as we know today – these were the last official live recordings with Magnum founder Tony Clarkin. The guitarist and main songwriter died unexpectedly on January 7, 2024, just days before the release of the studio album ‚Here Comes The Rain‘, which included a bonus DVD of the Wolverhampton show.
Due to popular demand and on the one-year anniversary of Clarkin’s death, ‚Live At KK`s Steel Mill‘ will be released on January 10, 2025 via Steamhammer/SPV for the first time as a double CD, triple LP and digital download. The concert disc shows Magnum as a frenetically celebrated band whose repertoire of hits, classics and newer songs could hardly be more varied. “It was the perfect evening,” recalls singer Bob Catley, “We ended our ’The Monster Roars‘ tour in Wolverhampton, ’KK’s Steel Mill‘ was packed and the promoter was a passionate Magnum fan. There could be no more worthy farewell to Tony than these recordings.”
