Cypecore is a German metal band that was founded in 2007 in Mannheim, Germany. The group debuted in 2008 when their first album “Innocent” hit the stores. It was the beginning of four concept albums that helped the band to establish a very solid foothold in the German metal scene.
With “Make Me Real” the next longplayer is getting closer to release. Eight songs, intro and outro, this is what fans can expect, as the band once again focuses on modern metal with crushing riff power. Metalcore units with grooving metal parts, and everything sounds very agile and dynamic.
But what is more apocalyptic than vivid is the storyline the album is built on. Cypecore takes the listener into the future. It’s the year 2133 when there are only a few survivors of an apocalyptic scenario and it’s the fight for resources that is the basic theme of the album. The brutal sound of the album transports this theme very well and it’s the aggressive screams of frontman Dominic Christoph that help a lot in getting the overall atmosphere across.

“Doomsday Parade” is a song on the album that reflects most of the trademarks of Cypecore. There are the already mentioned harsh vocals and thundering riffs. In addition, the four-piece integrates a few more melodies, which makes the song very appealing.
In a way, Cypecore don’t add much innovation to their sound, and yet the album is so fascinating that it’s hard not to get caught up in the massive riffs and dense sound of these modern metal anthems.
“Make Me Real” entertains and that is the most important factor. The title track even opens the doors to a wider audience as it is a more mellow song with melodies and a catchy chorus. Those of you who like modern metal with a very solid punch should check out this album because you might like what you get.
