Review PRIDIAN ‘Cybergnosis’ – EP – Markus' Heavy Music Blog

Today’s album is an interesting blend of modern rock and metal, combined with exciting electronic elements. The record we talk about is ‘Cybergnosis’ and is an EP. Estonia-based Pridian are the creators of this 5-track featuring release which is the follow-up of the band’s debut from 2021; at the time under the moniker of ÆØNS.

The first thing that stands out is the immense power of this release. If you take ‘Disgust’ as an example you can experience a lot of energy that is embedded in the tune. It is a raging song with furious vocals and screams on the one hand. Next to it is also a melodic middle section with clean vocals, acting as a counterpart to the sonic outburst. Equipped with very solid riff power and Laur Lindmäe hoarse screams the tune unfolds a vigor, that is attention- catching.

Hereby Pridian doesn’t invent a whole new genre but makes use of various elements which they combine to an own sound. ‘Deadfall’ is a song that reflects the mentioned well. Ten-ton heavy guitars and screeching vocals create a blast that sounds modern and rousing.

What makes ‘Cybergnosis’ to an interesting release too is the very dense and powerful sound. The Estonian four-piece succeeded on providing the album with the right punch.
