Review AMORPHIS ‘Queen Of Time (Live At Tavastia 2021)’

Amorphis needs no long introduction, as the band has been an integral part of the metal world for many years. These days, with ‘Queen of Time (Live at Tavastia)’ a new live album of the Finns will be released and it is a little bit different than the usual live releases.

When the world was held in the claws of a pandemic Amorphis decided that they still wanted to go on stage. Their latest album ‘Queen of Time’ had just been released and there was no chance to present the songs live. The only possibility was a concert without an audience, but with a lot of cameras for a live stream instead.

For Amorphis, that meant moving into the empty Tavastia Theater to play the entire new album live and stream it to the world. For both, band and fans in front of their home computers, such a show was a relatively new experience.

Now the live album of the show is released and since the songs are known there is not much more to tell than that this record is excellent in sound and you can definitely go for this recording even if you already own the studio version. But it is even better to experience the band live, as fortunately concerts without an audience belong to the past.
