Review DYNAZTY ‘Final Advent’

Even if the new album of Sweden’s melodic metal band Dynasty is called ‘Final Advent’, the record has nothing to do with Christmas and Advent. Rather, the five Swedes do everything they can to request an entry into the record collection of their fans through musical art.

‘Final Advent’ is the eighth album of the melodic rockers from Scandinavia and the guys have not changed much in their basic musical direction. Pleasant melodies, a certain hardness and a solid production, that’s what ‘Final Advent’ can provide. Songs like ‘Advent’ and the crashing ending ‘Power of Now’ show that the guys don’t only build on sugar-sweet hooks. Of course, a certain catchiness is a cornerstone of this record but powerful guitars boost the songs forward and show that Dynazty have proper rock power.

On the other hand, songs like ‘The White’ are not bad, but they don’t bring much new to light. The song is a well done standard, aiming at a larger fan base while losing some identity.

Better done are songs like ‘Natural Born Killer’, which immediately sticks and I get the idea that if ABBA had made hard rock, the result would sound something like this.

A song that is definitely worth listening to is called ‘Achilles Heel’ and is at the end of the album. Dynazty reduce the tempo, give the song a theatrical vibe and there is a certain darkness that warps the song. Here the band shows a slightly different side and this suits the guys exceptionally well.

In summary, ‘Final Advent’ is a thoroughly crafted album, which will also be embraced by fans. At the same time Dynazty don’t dare to step out of the comfort zone and deliver well made music that doesn’t offer much new. Nevertheless, the album is easy to listen to and brings a good mood, which should not be underestimated these days.
