Review LAST TEMPTATION ‘Fuel For My Soul’

Last Temptation’s debut album was released in autumn 2019 and the band, founded by Peter Scheithauer and Butcho Vukovic, invited some prominent contributors back in time. Three years and one pandemic later, Last Temptation returns with the sophomore album and this time the quartet builds fully on their one capability.

The second album from Last Temptation is a continuation of what the guys kicked-off in 2019. Powerful hard rock that melts with metal influences from bands like the mighty Black Sabbath, that is what fans can expect.

‘Believe Full’ is a song that includes most elements of Last temptation’s sound pattern. Hard riffing, melodic vocals, and a bit of the Sabbath-spirit, it is all woven into this song that can act as an example for the band’s music.

‘Stronger Than Fate’ is a song that also refers to the earlier days of metal. The upbeat smasher is certainly a highlight on the album and reminds of the great Ronnie James Dio. From fast to slower. The mighty riff is what is the base for the moderate paced title track and it’s the roaring bass that introduces ‘Free, Strong and Loud’.

Last Temptation knows how to use the metal toolkit and they do it with commitment. The quartet doesn’t copy the glorious days of heavy metal. Without reinventing the wheel of rock’n’roll the band takes what inspires and translates it into a modern and contemporary context. Not many bands are successful while going down this road; Last Temptation are. ‘Fuel For My Soul’ is a robust ‘hammer-on-the-anvil’ album with a lot of power and commitment.
