CANDLEMASS – EPICUS DOOMICUS METALLICUS 35TH ANNIVERSARY LP BOX SET comes in June

It was back in 1984 in Stockholm, when the next generation of doom metal band took off. Inspired by the mighty sound of Black Sabbath, Leif Edling formed Candlemass, a band that became a role model themselves for many doom metal bands.

In 1986, Candlemass premiered with ‘Epicus Doomicus Metallicus’. The album became a real doom metal classic and was the springboard for the band to a still ongoing journey though the worlds of heavy riffing.

35 years later, Candlemass re-release the album via Peaceville as a special 35^th anniversary triple colored vinyl box set. Release date will be June 17th, 2022.

Next to a new remastered version of the album, the box set also includes demo versions of ‘Epicus Doomicus Metallicus’ as well as rehearsals from November 1985. In addition a 8 page 12” booklet, a A2 poster and a handwritten letter from Edling rounds off a package that is certainly interesting for Candlemass fans and everyone who likes great metal.
