Review ATOMIC AGGRESSOR ‘Invoking the Primal Chaos’ – EP

And the year ends with ‚Invoking the Primal Chaos’. Now, hopefully not more and different than related to the new mini album from Chile’s death metal outfit Atomic Aggressor. The band, hailing from Santiago de Chile, has an inconstant vita that started in 1985, the founding date. Mainly demos and slit releases is what the discography shows, and it was nearly thirty years after founding the band that the full-length debut ‘sights of Suffering’ hit the shelves.

Another five years later, Atomic Aggressor returns with a four-track EP, providing nearly 19 minutes of old school death metal. Since the roots of the band are in the 80s, a time when death metal gained momentum, that sound of the quartet relates very much to this time. Mighty riffs, deep growls and a solid groove is what drive songs like ‘Primordial Wisdom’, a furious tune with well-placed tempo breaks. Also to mention is the brutal start ‘Primal Chaos’, a neck-snapping death metal track without compromises. Fans of old school death metal from South American should check-out this album.
