CD review BLACKMORE’S NIGHT ‘Here We Come A-Caroling’

Christmas time means carols and what would fit better in such a context than a new release from Blackmore’s Night. It seems like Ritchie Blackmore and Candice Night had a bit of the same thinking, which leads to a Blackmore’s Night EP called ‘Here We Come A-Caroling’.

While working on the new studio album, which is planned for spring 2021, the duo makes use of the Christmas time to release a four songs comprising EP. The musical sleigh ride includes classic, from ‘It Came Upon a Midnight Clear’ to ‘Silent Night’. Downside is, that the sleigh ride is a rather short one since the final notes of ‘Silent Night’ fade away already ten minutes after having started the winterly adventure.

Fans of Blackmore’s Night will certainly enjoy this release, providing festive music for the Christmas holidays. ‘Here Comes A-Caroling’ is an alternative to the usual Christmas season songs, but also not much more.
