CD review DEATH DEALER ‘Conquered Lands’

Death Dealer is not an unknown player. After all, the band exists since 2012 and if you consider the musicians involved, you are not facing newcomers. Death Dealer means listening to veterans at work. Ross The Boss, Sean Peck, Steve Bolognese and Stu Marshall, they all have a proven track record and when bassist Mike LePond joined in 2020, the time for a new album had come.

For five long years it was rather quiet around Death Dealer. But now the waiting time has come to an end and ‘Conquered Lands’ is in the starting blocks.

Friends of mighty power metal will be delighted, because what the album offers are 11 well developed metal songs that don’t accept any compromises. Screaming guitars, powerful riffs and a hard-working rhythm section are the basic elements of the album. We also should also not forget to mention the once again overwhelming vocal performance of Sean Peck, a true metal siren. Just listen to the ending of the rocking ‘Running With the Wolves’ and you will recognize what I’m talking about.

Death Dealer manages with ‘Conquered Lands’ the balancing act between 80s metal and modern sound. Power metal in 2020 has to sound exactly like these 11 songs. Friends of headbanging will definitely get their money’s worth here. Horns up.
