CRO-MAGS – “The Age of Quarrel: 40 Years of Quarrel” in November

Today, Cro-Mags—the legendary New York hardcore band led by frontman Harley Flanagan—are proud to announce their new album, The Age of Quarrel: 40 Years of Quarrel, a tribute to their groundbreaking 1986 debut. Release date is November 13th, 2026 and the album will come via BLIIBLK.

Forty years ago, New York City’s Cro-Mags defined the metal-punk crossover genre with their groundbreaking album The Age of Quarrel (1986). The intensity, influence, and groove of this record continue to resonate today—fueled by the band’s enduring legacy and their hard-earned reputation as one of the most explosive and influential acts in the heavy music scene. Led by founding member, bassist, and singer Harley Flanagan—who took on the role of frontman starting with the 1989 album “Best Wishes”—the Cro-Mags are now coming full circle: they’re celebrating the album that started it all.

Joining Flanagan are original “AOQ” guitarist Doug Holland, former Cro-Mags/Suicidal Tendencies guitarist Rocky George, and members of the modern bands Turnstile and Rise Against, whom they have influenced. Together, they reinterpret classics like “Hard Times,” “World Peace,” and “Malfunction” and expand the repertoire to include the fan favorite “Everybody’s Gonna Die,” which dates back to their 1985 demo era. The drums on all tracks were recorded by the exceptional drummer Greyson Nekrutman.

Produced and mixed by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Blood Incantation), “40 Years of Quarrel” not only revives a groundbreaking crossover classic but also reignites the passion of longtime followers and new fans of the Cro-Mags.
