Review HEAVEN & HELL “Breaking Out of Heaven 2007-2009” 

“Breaking Out of Heaven 2007–2009” is a comprehensive compilation featuring members of Black Sabbath in a lineup that includes Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Vinny Appice. During this period, these four pioneers of heavy metal reunited under the banner of Heaven & Hell, returning to the stage for a series of live performances and recording a studio album.

On March 27, 2026, Rhino Entertainment will release a special box set that looks back on this era, titled “Breaking Out of Heaven 2007–2009.” The collection serves as a retrospective of the band’s time as Heaven & Hell.

The box set includes the complete album”The Devil You Know,” along with the full live recording of Live from Radio City Music Hall, which will be available on vinyl for the first time in its entirety. It also features a live recording of Heaven & Hell’s performance at the legendary Wacken Open Air in 2009.

In addition to the music, the CD format includes Blu-ray content featuring concert footage and interviews. Rounding out the package is an illustrated booklet with liner notes by Hugh Gilmour, along with a reproduction of the original tour book and a poster.
