Last week it was Igorrr; this week, Revocation. The flow of releases from technically advanced extreme metal bands shows no sign of stopping.
Revocation’s latest effort is titled “New Gods, New Masters” and features nine new songs. Driven by Dave Davidson, the new album features complex songs that demand a lot from listeners, while simultaneously fascinating them with intense tunes like the title track.
Revocation belongs to the group of bands that have a great sense of how to blend brutal riffs with intricate song structures. The new album is full of these combinations, with ‘Dystopian Vermin’ being just one musical example of where the band lyrically explores the impact of AI on humanity.
‘New Gods, New Masters’ is out now, and you can watch the video for ‘Cronenberged’ here: https://youtu.be/ic181CpgbHI?feature=shared
