In February 2024, Long Distance Calling reached a significant milestone in their career: a sold-out concert at the historic Lichtburg cinema in Essen in front of more than 1,200 enthusiastic fans. Now the band is proud to announce the release of “Live at Lichtburg” – an impressive live album and concert film that captures every detail of this unforgettable evening.
Since their debut in 2007, the Münster-based quartet – David Jordan (guitar), Florian Füntmann (guitar), Jan Hoffmann (bass), and Janosch Rathmer (drums) – has developed into a modern benchmark for progressive and cinematic instrumental rock. With “Live at Lichtburg”, they not only present the biggest headline concert of their career to date, but also a unique reinterpretation of their repertoire, expanded by strings and brass that take the band’s distinctive sound into new dimensions.
The concert brought together highlights from their entire discography, with a special focus on the highly acclaimed albums Eraser and Avoid The Light. The result is a breathtaking performance that effortlessly switches between intimate, delicate moments and monumental walls of sound – a musical and emotional spectrum that only Long Distance Calling can create in this way.
Release date: December 5th, 2025 via earMUSIC
As a first taste, the band is releasing the single “Kamilah,” accompanied by a rousing live video from the Lichtburg.
