With his new live album “Live at the S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival”, released on November 7 via earMUSIC, Slash showcases his love of blues and his own musical roots. The live album and accompanying concert film capture the electrifying performance from July 17, 2024 at the Mission Ballroom in Colorado. On tour as part of the “S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival,” Slash and his band “Slash’s Blues Ball” deliver a unique set that pays tribute to the legends of rock and blues.
In addition to Slash on lead and rhythm guitar, “Slash’s Blues Ball” consists of his longtime companion Teddy “ZigZag” Andreadis (keyboards, harmonica, vocals), Tash Neal (rhythm guitar, vocals), Johnny Griparic (bass, backing vocals), and Michael Jerome (drums).
Together, the band delivers a set of blues classics and rock standards such as “Parchman Farm Blues” (Bukka White), “Killing Floor” (Howlin’ Wolf), “Born Under a Bad Sign” (Booker T. & the MG’s), “Oh Well” (Fleetwood Mac), “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” (The Undisputed Truth), “Stormy Monday” (T-Bone Walker), “Stone Free” (Jimi Hendrix) and “The Pusher” (Hoyt Axton). Slash also presents his new composition, “Metal Chestnut.”
The first single, “Oh Well (Live),” was released today. Slash takes on the Fleetwood Mac classic and turns it into a rousing blues version. In doing so, he channels Peter Green’s roots while unleashing his own distinctive energy. The result is a performance that feels timeless and bursting with vitality—the perfect single to kick off the upcoming live album.
