Review ELEINE „We Stand United“ – EP

I first came across the Swedish metal band Eleine in 2022 when they supported Sonata Arctica on their acoustic tour. I recall a show that, despite being acoustic, was very powerful and full of energy. It was an impressive set that raised the bar for the main act.

Eleine is now launching a new EP, “We Stand United,” which is supposed to bridge the waiting time for the next album. The new release features five songs, a mix of new material and live recordings.

It starts with a dramatic, cinematic instrumental called “Towards the Fields,” followed by the title track. “We Stand United” is a stomping symphonic metal track that remains dark and gritty. The heavy riffing and clear vocals create a nice contrast, allowing the song to compete with the best in the genre.

The EP also features two live recordings, both of which were taken at Masters of Rock 2024. The Skåne-based band’s live quality is showcased in “Never Forget” and “We Are Legion.” Lastly, the release includes an orchestral version of “Promise of Apocalypse,” demonstrating Eleine’s full musical range.

“We Stand United” is an EP that will delight fans, offering great songs in a different context than usual releases. Let’s stay curious about the next studio album
