When it comes to technical thrash metal, Coroner is one of the trailblazers. The Swiss metal band released their debut album, “R.I.P.,” in 1987, establishing themselves as masters of sophisticated thrash metal. “Grin” was Coroner’s last studio album, released in 1993. More than 30 years later, the band returns with “Dissonance Theory,” a comeback of the year and great news for fans. Driven by Ron Broder and Tommy Vetterli, the metal veterans released a first song called “Renewal.” The lead single shows that Coroner hasn’t lost any power; it’s fascinating, aggressive metal that blasts out of the speakers.
“Dissonance Theory” was recorded by Tommy Vetterli at New Sound Studios in Switzerland and mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden (Opeth, Kreator, Amon Amarth, etc.).
The album will be released on October 17, 2025, via Century Media.
