ASPHYX’s “Crush The Cenotaph” on vinyl in December

Originally released only once on vinyl, “Crush The Cenotaph” marks a decisive moment in the creation of Asphyx‘s legendary album “The Rack.” With studio and live recordings, the typical Asphyx sound was established here—for the first time with Martin van Drunen’s characteristic vocal style. An essential piece of death metal history that now returns in a worthy form.

“Crush The Cenotaph” will be released on December 5, 2025, in the following formats via Supreme Chaos Records:

Remastered by Patrick W. Engel at Temple Of Disharmony Studios and specially designed for vinyl in full dynamic range sound, the tracks on this EP now form a cohesive, harmonious whole for the first time – with a new, uncompromising and brutally direct intensity.

The cover painting by Axel Hermann was specially rescanned in high resolution for this reissue, and the entire artwork was carefully reworked. This reveals numerous new details, while the original color scheme gives the artwork noticeably more depth. The complete reworking – from the sound to the visual design – was done in close consultation with the band.
