DAVID GILMOUR announced „The Luck And Strange Concerts“ und „Live At The Circus Maximus, Rome“

David Gilmour‘s upcoming live album and film, titled “The Luck And Strange Concerts” and “Live At The Circus Maximus, Rome,” beautifully capture the concerts of the Luck and Strange Tour 2024.

The tour accompanied Gilmour’s fifth solo album, “Luck And Strange,” which reached #1 in the UK, Germany (his first #1 there), Poland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Portugal, and Austria. It reached #2 in France, Italy, and Belgium, the top 5 in Spain, Japan, Norway, Denmark, and Hungary, and the top ten in the US, Australia, Finland, Sweden, Ireland, and New Zealand.

The tour began with two warm-up shows at the Brighton Centre, then kicked off in spectacular fashion with six nights at the Circus Maximus in Rome, followed by the same number of shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall, before thrilling Californian audiences at the Intuit Dome and Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and ending with five nights at Madison Square Garden in New York.

All twenty-three dates were sold out, and with no new shows in sight, “The Luck And Strange Concerts” and “Live At The Circus Maximus, Rome” are the best and only way to experience the master of his craft on stage.

The concert film “Live At The Circus Maximus, Rome” will be shown worldwide in cinemas and IMAX® theaters for a limited time only from September 17 via Sony Music Vision and Trafalgar Releasing. In the film, Gilmour returns to Rome’s historic Circus Maximus at the start of the “Luck and Strange” tour. Gavin Elder, Gilmour’s longtime collaborator, filmed the sublime spectacle against the backdrop of Rome’s ancient ruins.

Tickets for the theatrical release will go on sale on August 6 at 3 p.m. CET. Detailed information about the screening for both IMAX® and standard format theaters can be found at davidgilmour.film. “Live At The Circus Maximus, Rome” will also be released on October 17 on 2 Blu-Ray and 3 DVD sets with unseen bonus material and the complete “The Luck And Strange Concerts” in 5.1 and Atmos (Blu-Ray only).

“The Luck And Strange Concerts” contains 23 tracks on 4 LPs or 2 CDs, recorded at selected shows on the tour, and mixes solo tracks from David’s current album, including a rousing rendition of “Between Two Points” with Romany Gilmour, as well as classic Pink Floyd anthems such as “Sorrow”, “High Hopes”, “Breathe (In The Air)”, “Time”, “Wish You Were Here”, and “Comfortably Numb”. The super deluxe edition of the album includes all formats as well as a 120-page hardcover book titled DAVID GILMOUR LUCK AND STRANGE LIVE featuring Polly Samson’s photos taken on the tour.

The sound for “The Luck And Strange Concerts” and “Live At The Circus Maximus, Rome” was co-produced by David and Charlie Andrew, who also produced the album “Luck and Strange.”

For the lucky fans who experienced these unique shows, “The Luck And Strange Concerts” and “Live At The Circus Maximus, Rome” are the perfect reminders of Gilmour’s soulful, expressive, and meticulously melodic guitar playing and the brilliance of his incredible band. For those who missed the shows, the album and film offer a unique opportunity to experience this extraordinary musical event.
