ROAR will re-release the first three HEXENHAUS records

Hexenhaus from Sweden was one of the most influential thrash metal bands from Scandinavia. The five-piece released four full length albums and it was the first era of Hexenhaus that brought some thrash metal gems to the surface.

Starting with their debut “A Tribute to Insanity”, the band from Stockholm was able to establish themselves as an important factor in the genre. The guys didn’t just rely on sheer power, but also added a stronger technical aspect and some twists to their music. This can be heard in songs like the 10-minute smasher “As Darkness Falls”, which shows the band’s finesse, but also reflects the aggressiveness of thrash metal in a great way.

Two years later, the guys unleashed “The Edge Of Eternity”, another flawless release from the thrash metal powerhouse. The technical aspect gained compared to the debut and the intro “Prelude” can’t hide a certain fascination for bands like Mekong Delta. The Edge of Eternity” features songs that have a few more layers and are more complex, which shows the progression the band has made in two years.

The band continued their tech thrash journey with “Awakening”. The third album adds another layer to their music and songs like the title track even show some references to bands like Fates Warning. “Awakening” is Hexenhaus’ most advanced album, while I personally like the unleashed aggressiveness of the debut best.

Each of the three Hexenhaus albums was critically acclaimed and well received by fans. However, Hexenhaus never had a real breakthrough and disbanded in 1992.

Now it is ROAR who will re-release the three longplayers on May 16th, 2025. Remastered by Ronnie Björnström, each of the albums also includes new liner notes, rare photos and an exclusive liner notes text. Everybody who missed Hexenhaus back in the 90s has now chance to catch up.
