THE CROWN announce “Crown of Thorns” and launch a new song

Trollhättan in Sweden isn’t only known for being the cradle for Saab, the legendary Swedish car brand that unfortunately doesn’t exist anymore. Still active though are The Crown and the Swedish death metal icons have with “Crown of Thorns” a new longplayer in the making.

Their  12th studio album features 10 song plus a few bonus tracks. With “Churchburner” a first new song has been launched, a song that refers to the 90s when death metal was heading towards its peak. Yet the song sounds modern and fits into the current times which is a balancing act The Crown masterfully managed.

‘Churchburner’ starts out with a nod to ‘Postmortem’ [Slayer] but then explodes into quite a different type of monster,” notes Tervonen. “It has a great groove to it, and it basically has a tempo/beat that we don’t use that often. It’s mostly in triplets. It’s a very strong song with Johan being on fire here and Marcus adds a killer solo as well.”
